La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec is a vital part of the extensive radio work of MissionGO

which reaches into many French-speaking countries of the world. The broadcasts are recorded in the studio of the radio follow-up office in Châteauguay.

The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.

In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of MissionGO representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. His wife, Karen, is also a representative of MissionGO.

The weekly French-language 15-minute broadcast features Pastor Michel Martel, a Québec evangelist who faithfully teaches the Word of God. Audio messages (in French only) are available on CDs at a reasonable cost as well as approximately 40 books in French on the Christian life.

How to have Eternal Life
Epicurus, the Greek philosopher, said: « Each of us leaves life with the feeling that he has just been born, » while according to the Arabic proverb, « Death is closer to us than the eyelid of the eye. »

The thoughtful man therefore thinks of the afterlife, but only one throughout the history of mankind has triumphed over death; one who spoke with authority and simplicity of eternal life – Jesus Christ.

What is eternal life?
Eternal life is a life that never ends, and moreover, has a spiritual dimension. Jesus told His listeners, « I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. » The Gospel according to John 5:24.
His listeners were alive, but because of sin (and all are sinners) they were dead spiritually. Many brilliant men are nevertheless agnostics, atheists, because they are spiritually dead. Their relationship with God is broken, for they do not know Him. Jesus said to His Father, « Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. » John 17:3

You and eternal life
« Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. » First epistle of John 5:10-12.
The theme of the Holy Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is that of the Redeemer, the Son of God. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled to the letter in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is God speaking to you and if you do not believe in this message, or if you modify it, you make God a liar and you bring upon yourself everlasting destruction, far from the presence of the Lord. But, if by faith you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you will live forever.
Jesus knocks at the door of your life. He wants to give you eternal life. You can experience the forgiveness of sin, peace and communion with God, and the power of a new and spiritual life. This life also has an eternal dimension; therefore, death is not the end but the dawn of an eternal and glorious day in the presence of Jesus Christ and His Father.

How do we receive eternal life?
« For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. » John 3:16.
What needs to be done to inherit eternal life? We must trust in Jesus Christ. Sin caused death: spiritual and physical. Every man is spiritually dead and all die physically. Jesus paid the debt of our sin and therefore, if we are willing to turn from our sins and trust Him, He will forgive us and give us eternal life, for « the Son gives life to whom He is pleased to give it. » John 5.21

Can we know that we have eternal life?
The apostle John completed his first epistle with the words, « I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. » 1 John 5:13. Jesus gave this assurance to the repentant thief, telling him, « today you will be with Me in paradise. » The Gospel according to Luke 23:43

Can you lose eternal life?
In this case it would not be eternal. Moreover, Jesus said, « And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. » John 6:39 & 40. Speaking of His « sheep” He says: « I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. » John 10:28. As Jesus gives eternal life to all who trust in Him, He also keeps.

It’s Your Decision « For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son … Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. » John. 3:17, 18 & 36
These verses in the Gospel of John say that you have the responsibility for your eternal fate in your hands. Jesus has done all that is necessary for your salvation and now offers you eternal life. « He who believes has everlasting life. » John 6:47.That is His promise.
What will you do with Jesus? Draw near to God in prayer and tell Him with all your heart that you trust in Jesus Christ in order to receive His salvation and eternal life.

Let us know of your decision so that we can rejoice with you and send you literature to help you in your new life of faith in Jesus Christ.

Aches and Praise

Aches and Praise Three Hundred & Sixty Three

August 23, 2018

Dear friends,

On Monday, I got a phone call from someone asking me if I was planning to vote for the local member of the Quebec National Assembly in the upcoming election. I thanked him for phoning and told him that I would take his words into consideration. After hanging up, I thought about the fact that the election campaign hadn’t officially started (it begins today) and that he was not shy to ask for my vote. As believers in Christ, why do we often hesitate to share the Good News of salvation with others? This morning I began to read “The Challenge of Missions” by Dr. Oswald J. Smith, the founding pastor of The Peoples Church in Toronto. The church  began in 1928, just before the Depression years brought great hardship to many.

In the foreword to the book, Rev. Jack McAlister, founder of World Literature Crusade, writes: “Dr. Smith has gone to seventy countries ‘on Royal service.’ He has heard ‘The Challenge of Missions.’ He knows there is only One who can pour balm into those broken hearts. Hence he is a man with a single purpose. First, last and always he is dedicated to meeting the spiritual need of the world by bringing multitudes in direct personal contact with Christ.” How about us? Do we want to tell everyone that there is a loving God who sent His only Son to save us from our sins?

One of my favourite books is “Disciples are Made – Not Born” by Walter A. Henrichsen. When he wrote this book in 1974, the author was the personnel director for The Navigators. Howard G. Hendricks, esteemed professor of Christian Education at Dallas Theological Seminary, wrote in the foreword: “’Make disciples’ is the mandate of the Master (Matt. 28:19-20). We may ignore it, but we cannot evade it. Our risen Christ left this legacy – the magna charta of the church. He provided both the model and the method … He demonstrated that you have not done anything until you have changed the lives of men.”

In a chapter entitled “Multiplying Your Efforts,” Henrichsen writes about the cost involved in multiplication: “Every parent knows that reproduction is costly. The more children you have, the more it costs to raise them. There are more interpersonal relationships to cope with in the family unit. There are more decisions to be made, greater chance for disease to strike a member of the family, There is a greater chance for heartache or disappointment in one form or another. Certainly more children take more time.” Perhaps you have experienced disappointment or discouragement with regard to a family member? God’s Word instructs us to seek the Lord and His wisdom in every area of our life.

Last night I realized that if my grandfather was still alive, he would have turned 126 today (exactly twice my age). I also remembered that today is Bethany’s spiritual birthday. Celebrating birthdays with parties and taking note of spiritual birthdays is a family tradition. When I realized last night that we forgot to acknowledge the spiritual birthday of one of our daughters last month, I felt bad. Although this is about forty days late, “Happy spiritual birthday, Candace!” Karen and I are very grateful for the many people who pray for our family and ministry. May the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ be proclaimed throughout Quebec and around the world, to the glory of God!

Scripture for the weekend: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14 (NKJV)
Thought for the weekend: “You can’t take it with you, but you can send it on ahead.” – Oswald J. Smith

By His grace,

Steve
