The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.

In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of MissionGO representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. How to have Eternal Life
Epicurus, the Greek philosopher, said: « Each of us leaves life with the feeling that he has just been born, » while according to the Arabic proverb, « Death is closer to us than the eyelid of the eye. »

The thoughtful man therefore thinks of the afterlife, but only one throughout the history of mankind has triumphed over death; one who spoke with authority and simplicity of eternal life – Jesus Christ.

What is eternal life?
Eternal life is a life that never ends, and moreover, has a spiritual dimension. Jesus told His listeners, « I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. » The Gospel according to John 5:24.
His listeners were alive, but because of sin (and all are sinners) they were dead spiritually. Many brilliant men are nevertheless agnostics, atheists, because they are spiritually dead. Their relationship with God is broken, for they do not know Him. Jesus said to His Father, « Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. » John 17:3

You and eternal life
« Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. » First epistle of John 5:10-12.
The theme of the Holy Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is that of the Redeemer, the Son of God. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled to the letter in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is God speaking to you and if you do not believe in this message, or if you modify it, you make God a liar and you bring upon yourself everlasting destruction, far from the presence of the Lord. But, if by faith you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you will live forever.
Jesus knocks at the door of your life. He wants to give you eternal life. You can experience the forgiveness of sin, peace and communion with God, and the power of a new and spiritual life. This life also has an eternal dimension; therefore, death is not the end but the dawn of an eternal and glorious day in the presence of Jesus Christ and His Father.

How do we receive eternal life?
« For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. » John 3:16.
What needs to be done to inherit eternal life? We must trust in Jesus Christ. Sin caused death: spiritual and physical. Every man is spiritually dead and all die physically. Jesus paid the debt of our sin and therefore, if we are willing to turn from our sins and trust Him, He will forgive us and give us eternal life, for « the Son gives life to whom He is pleased to give it. » John 5.21

Can we know that we have eternal life?
The apostle John completed his first epistle with the words, « I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. » 1 John 5:13. Jesus gave this assurance to the repentant thief, telling him, « today you will be with Me in paradise. » The Gospel according to Luke 23:43

Can you lose eternal life?
In this case it would not be eternal. Moreover, Jesus said, « And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. » John 6:39 & 40. Speaking of His « sheep” He says: « I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. » John 10:28. As Jesus gives eternal life to all who trust in Him, He also keeps.

It’s Your Decision « For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son … Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. » John. 3:17, 18 & 36
These verses in the Gospel of John say that you have the responsibility for your eternal fate in your hands. Jesus has done all that is necessary for your salvation and now offers you eternal life. « He who believes has everlasting life. » John 6:47.That is His promise.
What will you do with Jesus? Draw near to God in prayer and tell Him with all your heart that you trust in Jesus Christ in order to receive His salvation and eternal life.

Let us know of your decision so that we can rejoice with you and send you literature to help you in your new life of faith in Jesus Christ.

Aches and Praise Five Hundred & Thirty One

Dear friends,

In our Bible study group on Zoom last night, we looked at the arrest of Jesus in John 18. When Judas decided to betray Jesus, he arranged for a detachment of troops (v. 3) to accompany him. I was surprised to learn that the detachment of Roman soldiers included about 600 men. These men, along with officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, fell to the ground when Jesus said “I am He” (v. 6). Earlier in the Gospel of John, we read: “No man ever spoke like this Man!” (7:46). We also see that Jesus answered the Jews in a similar way as He did the officers: “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM” (8:58). This echoes the words that Moses heard from God in Exodus 3: “I AM WHO I AM. Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you” (v. 14).

As we examined the account of the betrayal and arrest of Jesus in John 18, we realized that it is important to read the accounts in the other three gospels. Matthew, Mark, and Luke provide other information and insights. While John is the only gospel writer to report Jesus’ interview with Annas (v. 13), Matthew recorded more than John did of what Jesus said to Peter after he cut off the ear of the high priest’s servant: “Or do you think that I cannot now pray to my Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?” (26:53). In his Study Bible, Dr. David Jeremiah writes: “With a word He could have summoned more than twelve legions of angels – 72,000 warriors eager to snuff out His enemies. Each angel can overpower countless men; in one night, one angel killed 185,000 marauding Assyrian troops who were threatening Jerusalem (2 Kings 19:35).” Jesus knew “all things that would come upon Him” (John 18:4) and let Judas arrange to arrest Him.

Mark wrote about Jesus’ trial before the Sanhedrin (14:55-64) and Luke recorded that Jesus turned and looked at Peter after he denied Him three times (23:61). As we read all four gospels, we get a better understanding of what Jesus said and did.

In the Scripture for the weekend, the words that Jesus cried out on the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles (see Leviticus 23 for more about this) are recorded. In his Study Bible, Dr. David Jeremiah writes: “On the final day of the Feast of Tabernacles, the priests’ group would go to the pool of Siloam and draw water into golden pitchers, which they would pour onto the altar of sacrifice at the temple. They would then sing songs from Isaiah 12:3 and Psalm 114:7, 8. This ritual was a reminder of God’s provision in the wilderness.

Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of this feast. He is both the Rock from which the living water flows and the Living Water (John 4:14; Num. 20; Deut. 8:15; Neh. 9:15; Rev. 21:6; 22:1).” Have you put your trust in the One who left the splendour of heaven to live on the earth in order to take the punishment that our sins deserved? He alone offers forgiveness for our sins and a life of blessings as we walk with Him.

Scripture for the weekend: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” John 7:37-38 (NKJV)

Thought for the weekend: “The good news is that Jesus has the power to heal the wounds we cause. He often can undo the mistakes we make. Of course, it is better to stay in tune with our Lord’s program right from the beginning. We should take to heart His rebuke to Simon Peter: ‘Put away your sword! That’s not the way I work. I am not here to destroy, to cut people apart. I’m here to put people back together again.’”  – Ray C. Stedman (from his book “God’s Loving Word”)

By His grace,

Steve
