La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec is a vital part of the extensive radio work of MissionGO

which reaches into many French-speaking countries of the world. The broadcasts are recorded in the studio of the radio follow-up office in Châteauguay.

The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.

In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of MissionGO representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. His wife, Karen, is also a representative of MissionGO.

The weekly French-language 15-minute broadcast features Pastor Michel Martel, a Québec evangelist who faithfully teaches the Word of God. Audio messages (in French only) are available on CDs at a reasonable cost as well as approximately 40 books in French on the Christian life.

How to have Eternal Life
Epicurus, the Greek philosopher, said: « Each of us leaves life with the feeling that he has just been born, » while according to the Arabic proverb, « Death is closer to us than the eyelid of the eye. »

The thoughtful man therefore thinks of the afterlife, but only one throughout the history of mankind has triumphed over death; one who spoke with authority and simplicity of eternal life – Jesus Christ.

What is eternal life?
Eternal life is a life that never ends, and moreover, has a spiritual dimension. Jesus told His listeners, « I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. » The Gospel according to John 5:24.
His listeners were alive, but because of sin (and all are sinners) they were dead spiritually. Many brilliant men are nevertheless agnostics, atheists, because they are spiritually dead. Their relationship with God is broken, for they do not know Him. Jesus said to His Father, « Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. » John 17:3

You and eternal life
« Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. » First epistle of John 5:10-12.
The theme of the Holy Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is that of the Redeemer, the Son of God. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled to the letter in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is God speaking to you and if you do not believe in this message, or if you modify it, you make God a liar and you bring upon yourself everlasting destruction, far from the presence of the Lord. But, if by faith you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you will live forever.
Jesus knocks at the door of your life. He wants to give you eternal life. You can experience the forgiveness of sin, peace and communion with God, and the power of a new and spiritual life. This life also has an eternal dimension; therefore, death is not the end but the dawn of an eternal and glorious day in the presence of Jesus Christ and His Father.

How do we receive eternal life?
« For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. » John 3:16.
What needs to be done to inherit eternal life? We must trust in Jesus Christ. Sin caused death: spiritual and physical. Every man is spiritually dead and all die physically. Jesus paid the debt of our sin and therefore, if we are willing to turn from our sins and trust Him, He will forgive us and give us eternal life, for « the Son gives life to whom He is pleased to give it. » John 5.21

Can we know that we have eternal life?
The apostle John completed his first epistle with the words, « I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. » 1 John 5:13. Jesus gave this assurance to the repentant thief, telling him, « today you will be with Me in paradise. » The Gospel according to Luke 23:43

Can you lose eternal life?
In this case it would not be eternal. Moreover, Jesus said, « And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. » John 6:39 & 40. Speaking of His « sheep” He says: « I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. » John 10:28. As Jesus gives eternal life to all who trust in Him, He also keeps.

It’s Your Decision « For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son … Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. » John. 3:17, 18 & 36
These verses in the Gospel of John say that you have the responsibility for your eternal fate in your hands. Jesus has done all that is necessary for your salvation and now offers you eternal life. « He who believes has everlasting life. » John 6:47.That is His promise.
What will you do with Jesus? Draw near to God in prayer and tell Him with all your heart that you trust in Jesus Christ in order to receive His salvation and eternal life.

Let us know of your decision so that we can rejoice with you and send you literature to help you in your new life of faith in Jesus Christ.

Aches and Praise

Aches and Praise Seven Hundred and Thirteen

Dear friends,

Do you sometimes have dreams that you are meeting someone or doing work for someone who is famous, but you have never met? Earlier this week, I dreamt that I was cleaning the bathtub of Barack Obama. Maybe his name was on my mind because there has been a lot of information about presidents and government leaders in the news lately. In searching the Internet, I learned that he was born in 1961.

In this month’s edition of “Turning Points” magazine, there is an article by Dr. David Jeremiah entitled “Bridging the Generation Gap.” He writes: “Think about the last time your family gathered for a holiday celebration – say, Thanksgiving or Christmas of last year. Or consider the last time you attended a family reunion. How many generations of your extended family were present at those events?” He then notes that in the United States people are living longer than they did a century ago. In 1900, average life expectancy in the United States was 47 years, while in 2024 average life expectancy rose to 79 years.

As I read more of Dr. Jeremiah’s article, I learned that former president and I are part of the Baby Boomer Generation (born 1946-1964). “As World War II ended, soldiers made their way home and resumed family life. The low birth rates of the prior generation gave way to a ‘baby boom’ resulting in a surge in the American population.

As the early baby boomers reached college-age in the 1960s and 1970s, they sparked a cultural revolution on campuses across the country. Opposition to America’s involvement in the Vietnam War fueled revolutions in music, sex, religion, and cultural standards. The cultural disorientation also led to a surge of spiritual renewal characterized by the Jesus movement in which baby boomers discovered faith in Christ.”

As Canada’s Prime Minister, Mark Carney, met with U.S. President Donald Trump this week, it was a good time to reflect on how Canadians and Americans share many of the same values, including being good neighbours. This morning, Karen got a phone call from our neignbour across the street, asking how she is feeling. Seeing the drapes closed in our front window, Jennifer was checking to see how Karen is feeling. For the past two weeks, as the blossoms on the trees sprouted, Karen’s eyes became itchier as she grapples with allergies. It was so encouraging to hear that Jennifer offered to help Karen if she needed anything.

While changes in our health, work, and living conditions prompt us to react accordingly, we know that some things remain the same. As Dr. Jeremiah notes: “Mankind’s needs, desires, aspirations, struggles, and questions do not change from one generation to the next. That means God’s answers to mankind’s needs do not change either.

God doesn’t change, nor does His truth. Because the needs of mankind do not change either, the task of the Church remains the same. Yes, methods may change, but the message never does! Regardless of which generation we are a part of, our mission remains the same. The Bible, the Church, evangelism, salvation by faith, and discipleship are the constants, regardless of the passage of time.”

In an article entitled “No More Fear,” Dr. Jeremiah includes the following: “In his book on heaven, D. L. Moody told about a father that he met in New York. That father had a son who was periodically ill. No one really thought his illness was serious until the child took a turn for the worse, when the doctor informed the mother that the boy’s disease was terminal and that he would not live for more than a few days.

When the father came home from work that night, he saw his wife weeping and he asked her why. ‘There has been a great change in our boy since morning,’ the mother said. ‘The doctor tells me that he is very ill and may not live out the night.’

When the father went in to see his son, it was apparent that the boy knew what was going on. He looked up at his dad and said, ‘I will be with Jesus tonight, won’t I?’ The father answered, ‘Yes, son, it is very likely that you will be with Jesus tonight.’

As the father spoke, tears streamed down his face and he tried to hide them from his boy. But the boy saw the tears and said, ‘Father, don’t you cry for me; when I get to heaven, I will go straight to Jesus and tell Him that ever since I can remember, you have tried to lead me to Him.’”

Do you know that if you were to die tonight that you would go to heaven? If you’re not sure, you can be sure by asking God’s forgiveness for your sins and trusting the Lord Jesus as your Saviour. As recorded by the disciple John, Jesus declared: “And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:40).

Praise the Lord for His amazing love!

Scripture for the weekend: “Since then the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil; and might deliver those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.” Hebrews 2:14-15 (NASB).

Thought for the weekend: “Down through the years, I turned to the Bible and found in it all that I needed.” – Ruth Bell Graham.

By His grace,

Steve
