La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec is a vital part of the extensive radio work of MissionGO

which reaches into many French-speaking countries of the world. The broadcasts are recorded in the studio of the radio follow-up office in Châteauguay.

The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.

In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of MissionGO representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. His wife, Karen, is also a representative of MissionGO.

The weekly French-language 15-minute broadcast features Pastor Michel Martel, a Québec evangelist who faithfully teaches the Word of God. Audio messages (in French only) are available on CDs at a reasonable cost as well as approximately 40 books in French on the Christian life.

Action Mondiale d’Évangélisation (Québec) Inc is the name of the Québec incorporation of MissionGO

How to have Eternal Life
Epicurus, the Greek philosopher, said: « Each of us leaves life with the feeling that he has just been born, » while according to the Arabic proverb, « Death is closer to us than the eyelid of the eye. »

The thoughtful man therefore thinks of the afterlife, but only one throughout the history of mankind has triumphed over death; one who spoke with authority and simplicity of eternal life – Jesus Christ.

What is eternal life?
Eternal life is a life that never ends, and moreover, has a spiritual dimension. Jesus told His listeners, « I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. » The Gospel according to John 5:24.
His listeners were alive, but because of sin (and all are sinners) they were dead spiritually. Many brilliant men are nevertheless agnostics, atheists, because they are spiritually dead. Their relationship with God is broken, for they do not know Him. Jesus said to His Father, « Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. » John 17:3

You and eternal life
« Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. » First epistle of John 5:10-12.
The theme of the Holy Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is that of the Redeemer, the Son of God. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled to the letter in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is God speaking to you and if you do not believe in this message, or if you modify it, you make God a liar and you bring upon yourself everlasting destruction, far from the presence of the Lord. But, if by faith you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you will live forever.
Jesus knocks at the door of your life. He wants to give you eternal life. You can experience the forgiveness of sin, peace and communion with God, and the power of a new and spiritual life. This life also has an eternal dimension; therefore, death is not the end but the dawn of an eternal and glorious day in the presence of Jesus Christ and His Father.

How do we receive eternal life?
« For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. » John 3:16.
What needs to be done to inherit eternal life? We must trust in Jesus Christ. Sin caused death: spiritual and physical. Every man is spiritually dead and all die physically. Jesus paid the debt of our sin and therefore, if we are willing to turn from our sins and trust Him, He will forgive us and give us eternal life, for « the Son gives life to whom He is pleased to give it. » John 5.21

Can we know that we have eternal life?
The apostle John completed his first epistle with the words, « I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. » 1 John 5:13. Jesus gave this assurance to the repentant thief, telling him, « today you will be with Me in paradise. » The Gospel according to Luke 23:43

Can you lose eternal life?
In this case it would not be eternal. Moreover, Jesus said, « And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. » John 6:39 & 40. Speaking of His « sheep” He says: « I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. » John 10:28. As Jesus gives eternal life to all who trust in Him, He also keeps.

It’s Your Decision « For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son … Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. » John. 3:17, 18 & 36
These verses in the Gospel of John say that you have the responsibility for your eternal fate in your hands. Jesus has done all that is necessary for your salvation and now offers you eternal life. « He who believes has everlasting life. » John 6:47.That is His promise.
What will you do with Jesus? Draw near to God in prayer and tell Him with all your heart that you trust in Jesus Christ in order to receive His salvation and eternal life.

Let us know of your decision so that we can rejoice with you and send you literature to help you in your new life of faith in Jesus Christ.

Aches and Praise

Aches and Praise Five Hundred & Seventy Three

September 2, 2022

Dear friends,

For the past few days, some lyrics from a song have been swirling in my head: “Will I see you in September or lose you to a summer love?” When I looked at the Internet, I found this: “See You in September” is a song written by Sid Wayne and Sherman Edwards. It was first recorded by the Pittsburgh vocal group The Tempos. This first version peaked at #23 in the summer of 1959. The most popular take on “See You In September” was by The Happenings in 1966, which reached #3.

In 1966 I was enjoying the summer break from school, playing outside a lot and listening to the radio a lot. This summer, I have not been playing outside, but I still listen to the radio. Now, the proliferation of television channels and Internet postings has bought so much information and news to our attention. We can get overwhelmed if we don’t make a concerted effort to focus on what is most important to us

One of my favourite authors is Ann-Margret Hovsepian, who recently posted the following:

“A few days ago, I felt a bit unsettled and realized I was discouraged about some areas of my life where I saw no real progress, if not backward motion. I also realized that I was letting myself feel anxious instead of praying for guidance and trusting God to take care of me. On Friday morning, I journalled these thoughts at length and wrote out a list of things I could be grateful for in the midst of my challenges.

Half an hour later, when I picked up Resilience (a book I did the copy writing for last year), the reflection prompt I turned to was all about listing the things I’m worried about and feel that God may not take care of, perhaps because I see those needs as small and insignificant to Him. I marvelled at the coincidence but something much more significant dawned on me. I suddenly understood why I hesitate to take my needs to God, and I want to share this with you in case you can relate and are struggling with the same problem.

I wrestle with my worries and try to take care of my needs myself because I feel guilty. I feel embarrassed. I know that some of my concerns are the consequences of my own poor choices or my lack of discipline or my natural weaknesses and not bad luck or unpreventable circumstances. So I reason that if my needs are my fault, then I need to take responsibility for them and fix them myself instead of “burdening” God with them. I don’t want to take advantage of His kindness by asking Him to bail me out. We tend to frown upon young people who live irresponsibly and then expect their parents to solve their problems. I don’t want to be the prodigal.

On one level, that might make sense. But it’s not a sustainable position because it’s a self-perpetuating problem. It’s like not going to the dentist when I have cavities because I don’t want him to see I haven’t been flossing. And the truth is, I am the prodigal. God already knows this. He already knows I’m weak and undisciplined and unwise (and loves me anyway). The question is, do I know it? Can I admit it? Will I humble myself long enough to go to Him and say, like a repentant child, “Papa, I messed up. Will you help me, please?”

Will I cling to these promises?

  • If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
  • He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion (Proverbs 28:13).
  • The Lord is gracious and merciful; slow to anger and great in lovingkindness (Psalm 145:8).
  • Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

And then there’s my favourite verse, which I’ve been working on memorizing: The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing (Zephaniah 3:17).

Yes, I think I will cling to these promises. I hope you will, too. Have a great Monday!”

Scripture for the weekend: “Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God;” 1 Thessalonians 4:1 (NKJV)

Thought for the weekend: “If you serve your kids frozen pizza or chicken nuggets for dinner, you are a terrible parent. I don’t care how busy you are, find the time to microwave them!” – unknown (from Ann-Margret Hovsepian’s blog post)
