La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec is a vital part of the extensive radio work of Global Outreach Mission

which reaches into many French-speaking countries of the world. The broadcasts are recorded in the studio of the radio follow-up office in Châteauguay.

The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.

In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of Global Outreach Mission representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal, six stations in northern Ontario, seven stations in Atlantic Canada and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. His wife, Karen, is also a representative of Global Outreach Mission.

The weekly French-language 15-minute broadcast features Pastor Michel Martel, a Québec evangelist who faithfully teaches the Word of God. Audio messages (in French only) are available on CDs at a reasonable cost as well as approximately 40 books in French on the Christian life.

Action Mondiale d’Évangélisation (Québec) Inc is the name of the Québec incorporation of Global Outreach Mission.

2. WE BELIEVE that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: FatherSon and Holy Spirit.

3. WE BELIEVE in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

4. WE BELIEVE that all men have sinned and for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

5. WE BELIEVE in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

How to have Eternal Life
Epicurus, the Greek philosopher, said: « Each of us leaves life with the feeling that he has just been born, » while according to the Arabic proverb, « Death is closer to us than the eyelid of the eye. »

The thoughtful man therefore thinks of the afterlife, but only one throughout the history of mankind has triumphed over death; one who spoke with authority and simplicity of eternal life – Jesus Christ.

What is eternal life?
Eternal life is a life that never ends, and moreover, has a spiritual dimension. Jesus told His listeners, « I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. » The Gospel according to John 5:24.
His listeners were alive, but because of sin (and all are sinners) they were dead spiritually. Many brilliant men are nevertheless agnostics, atheists, because they are spiritually dead. Their relationship with God is broken, for they do not know Him. Jesus said to His Father, « Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. » John 17:3

You and eternal life
« Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. » First epistle of John 5:10-12.
The theme of the Holy Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is that of the Redeemer, the Son of God. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled to the letter in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is God speaking to you and if you do not believe in this message, or if you modify it, you make God a liar and you bring upon yourself everlasting destruction, far from the presence of the Lord. But, if by faith you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you will live forever.
Jesus knocks at the door of your life. He wants to give you eternal life. You can experience the forgiveness of sin, peace and communion with God, and the power of a new and spiritual life. This life also has an eternal dimension; therefore, death is not the end but the dawn of an eternal and glorious day in the presence of Jesus Christ and His Father.

How do we receive eternal life?
« For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. » John 3:16.
What needs to be done to inherit eternal life? We must trust in Jesus Christ. Sin caused death: spiritual and physical. Every man is spiritually dead and all die physically. Jesus paid the debt of our sin and therefore, if we are willing to turn from our sins and trust Him, He will forgive us and give us eternal life, for « the Son gives life to whom He is pleased to give it. » John 5.21

Can we know that we have eternal life?
The apostle John completed his first epistle with the words, « I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. » 1 John 5:13. Jesus gave this assurance to the repentant thief, telling him, « today you will be with Me in paradise. » The Gospel according to Luke 23:43

Can you lose eternal life?
In this case it would not be eternal. Moreover, Jesus said, « And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. » John 6:39 & 40. Speaking of His « sheep” He says: « I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. » John 10:28. As Jesus gives eternal life to all who trust in Him, He also keeps.

It’s Your Decision « For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son … Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. » John. 3:17, 18 & 36
These verses in the Gospel of John say that you have the responsibility for your eternal fate in your hands. Jesus has done all that is necessary for your salvation and now offers you eternal life. « He who believes has everlasting life. » John 6:47.That is His promise.
What will you do with Jesus? Draw near to God in prayer and tell Him with all your heart that you trust in Jesus Christ in order to receive His salvation and eternal life.

Let us know of your decision so that we can rejoice with you and send you literature to help you in your new life of faith in Jesus Christ.

Aches and Praises

Aches and Praise Three Hundred & Eighty Nine

February 24, 2019

Dear friends,

Last week, I began reading a book by the late Keith Price entitled “Thirsting after God.” This book contains insights from a man who devoted his life to studying the Scriptures and teaching His Word. A few months after I trusted Christ as my Saviour in January 1973, I volunteered at the “Sermons from Science” pavilion, which remained open for several years after the world’s fair, Expo ’67, was held in Montreal. One of my memories of that summer was meeting Keith Price (commissioner of the pavilion), who had a contagious smile and enthusiasm for the work of the Lord. Years later I would learn that Karen’s father had used Brother Price’s address to ship the Shellys’ belongings from France when they sailed to Montreal in April 1971 to begin a new chapter in their missionary service.

The first part of this inspirational book looks at Psalm 63 and includes the following: “God creates the thirst. We must cultivate it. When I respond, God finds a way to encourage me, often through special people or circumstances. God commands me to be filled with His Spirit, meaning it is my move next. He will then respond to that.” Earlier this month, Jerad Mellette, youth pastor at Grace Church in Verdun, preached on Psalm 61, while his brother, Brad, senior pastor at Grace, was on a missions trip to Nepal. When I began reading “Thirsting after God” and saw that it contained a detailed study of Psalm 63, I realized that the Lord was impressing upon me the spiritual gems that are contained in the Book of Psalms.

While shoveling snow and braving the cold seem far removed from caring for sheep and living in the wilderness, we see in the Psalms that the Lord provided everything that David and others in Israel needed, just as He does for His children today. Although the storms of life threaten to overwhelm us, we know that the Lord is a strong tower, in whom we can take refuge, as Martin Luther wrote in his beloved hymn “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.”

Scripture for the weekend: “For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.” Psalm 61:3-4 (NIV)

Thought for the weekend: “Temptation rarely comes in working hours. It is in their leisure time that men are made or marred.” – W. M. Taylor (from “Minute Motivators for Men” by Stan Toler)

By His grace,

Steve
