La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec is a vital part of the extensive radio work of MissionGO

which reaches into many French-speaking countries of the world. The broadcasts are recorded in the studio of the radio follow-up office in Châteauguay.

The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.

In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of MissionGO representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. His wife, Karen, is also a representative of MissionGO.

The weekly French-language 15-minute broadcast features Pastor Michel Martel, a Québec evangelist who faithfully teaches the Word of God. Audio messages (in French only) are available on CDs at a reasonable cost as well as approximately 40 books in French on the Christian life.

Action Mondiale d’Évangélisation (Québec) Inc is the name of the Québec incorporation of MissionGO

How to have Eternal Life
Epicurus, the Greek philosopher, said: « Each of us leaves life with the feeling that he has just been born, » while according to the Arabic proverb, « Death is closer to us than the eyelid of the eye. »

The thoughtful man therefore thinks of the afterlife, but only one throughout the history of mankind has triumphed over death; one who spoke with authority and simplicity of eternal life – Jesus Christ.

What is eternal life?
Eternal life is a life that never ends, and moreover, has a spiritual dimension. Jesus told His listeners, « I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. » The Gospel according to John 5:24.
His listeners were alive, but because of sin (and all are sinners) they were dead spiritually. Many brilliant men are nevertheless agnostics, atheists, because they are spiritually dead. Their relationship with God is broken, for they do not know Him. Jesus said to His Father, « Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. » John 17:3

You and eternal life
« Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. » First epistle of John 5:10-12.
The theme of the Holy Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is that of the Redeemer, the Son of God. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled to the letter in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is God speaking to you and if you do not believe in this message, or if you modify it, you make God a liar and you bring upon yourself everlasting destruction, far from the presence of the Lord. But, if by faith you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you will live forever.
Jesus knocks at the door of your life. He wants to give you eternal life. You can experience the forgiveness of sin, peace and communion with God, and the power of a new and spiritual life. This life also has an eternal dimension; therefore, death is not the end but the dawn of an eternal and glorious day in the presence of Jesus Christ and His Father.

How do we receive eternal life?
« For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. » John 3:16.
What needs to be done to inherit eternal life? We must trust in Jesus Christ. Sin caused death: spiritual and physical. Every man is spiritually dead and all die physically. Jesus paid the debt of our sin and therefore, if we are willing to turn from our sins and trust Him, He will forgive us and give us eternal life, for « the Son gives life to whom He is pleased to give it. » John 5.21

Can we know that we have eternal life?
The apostle John completed his first epistle with the words, « I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. » 1 John 5:13. Jesus gave this assurance to the repentant thief, telling him, « today you will be with Me in paradise. » The Gospel according to Luke 23:43

Can you lose eternal life?
In this case it would not be eternal. Moreover, Jesus said, « And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. » John 6:39 & 40. Speaking of His « sheep” He says: « I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. » John 10:28. As Jesus gives eternal life to all who trust in Him, He also keeps.

It’s Your Decision « For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son … Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. » John. 3:17, 18 & 36
These verses in the Gospel of John say that you have the responsibility for your eternal fate in your hands. Jesus has done all that is necessary for your salvation and now offers you eternal life. « He who believes has everlasting life. » John 6:47.That is His promise.
What will you do with Jesus? Draw near to God in prayer and tell Him with all your heart that you trust in Jesus Christ in order to receive His salvation and eternal life.

Let us know of your decision so that we can rejoice with you and send you literature to help you in your new life of faith in Jesus Christ.

Aches and Praise

Aches and Praise Two Hundred & Ninety

Dear friends,

Last night, I checked emails that came from missionary friends in Mexico and France.  Last week, we received an email from someone in Africa who downloaded the app for “La Voix de l’Évangile” on her smartphone. Technological advancements have made it possible to proclaim the gospel all over the world. The Internet also provides helpful resources for believers to grow in their knowledge of the Lord, including Josh McDowell’s excellent article on the attributes of God: www.josh.org/resources/spiritual-growth/attributes-of-god/. McDowell has had an extensive ministry around the world and has authored many books, including “Evidence That Demands a Verdict” and “More Than a Carpenter.”

In recent editions of this blog, we have examined several Christian doctrines found in the second chapter of the apostle Paul’s first epistle to Timothy: universal prayer, the unity of God, the universal love and concern of God, and the unique mediatorship of Jesus Christ. Now we will take a brief look at the doctrine of the universality of Christ’s atonement.

Some people believe that 1Timothy 2:6 and 4:10 teach that all people will be saved. This is not the case, however. As Dr. David Jeremiah writes: “Even though God desires all … to be saved, it does not mean that he will save everyone (Paul is not a universalist). People must either accept the gospel in faith or reject it. The key decision in life is to determine in whom or in what to place one’s trust.”

In his book “God and the Nations,” G. Christian Weiss writes: “The verbal teachings of Jesus Christ are filled with emphasis on the worldwide character of His own mission, and of the redemptive mercy of God.” One example is when Jesus read a passage from the prophet Isaiah in the synagogue. Weiss writes: “There were no chapter divisions in the Hebrew Bible, and it was altogether likely that Jesus read the whole passage which now comprises chapters 61 and 62 of Isaiah, for the two form a unit.” As Dr. Luke writes in the fourth chapter of his gospel, the people listening to Jesus in the synagogue “marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth” (verse 22). Just as there is a transition in Isaiah’s prophecy, so the attitude of the Jews in the synagogue changed when Jesus talked about Elijah and Elisha ministering to Gentiles.

Referring to Isaiah 62:2, Weiss writes: “This insistence upon personal righteousness, and this inference of worldwide service among the nations was what the people of Nazareth resented. They were content to receive God’s blessing but were not willing to practice the righteousness which God requires, nor were they disposed to have dealings with the Gentile nations of the earth, all of which the passage implies. They began to challenge His authority to speak thus to them. They reasoned that, after all, He was just a home-town boy, a carpenter’s son.”

The purpose of Christ’s coming is found in the “Scripture for the weekend” below. Three months ago, Christians celebrated the birth of Jesus and in two weeks, we will remember His death and celebrate His resurrection. The calendar is marked by the life, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, yet many people are ignorant of the One who loved mankind so much that He left heaven in order to redeem us from sin.

Thank you for your prayers for the Quebec Radio ministry. These are days of great opportunity to proclaim the gospel on stations in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New York, as well as on the Internet. By God’s grace, many French-speaking people around the world will hear the message of salvation and trust in Christ.

Scripture for the weekend:“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”    Mark 10:45 (NKJV)

Thought for the weekend: “Advice is often what we ask for when we already know the answer and wish we didn’t.” – from the February 2017 edition of “Have A Good Day” (Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.)

By His grace,

Steve
