La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec is a vital part of the extensive radio work of MissionGO

which reaches into many French-speaking countries of the world. The broadcasts are recorded in the studio of the radio follow-up office in Châteauguay.

The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.

In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of MissionGO representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. His wife, Karen, is also a representative of MissionGO.

The weekly French-language 15-minute broadcast features Pastor Michel Martel, a Québec evangelist who faithfully teaches the Word of God. Audio messages (in French only) are available on CDs at a reasonable cost as well as approximately 40 books in French on the Christian life.

Action Mondiale d’Évangélisation (Québec) Inc is the name of the Québec incorporation of MissionGO

2. WE BELIEVE that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: FatherSon and Holy Spirit.

3. WE BELIEVE in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

4. WE BELIEVE that all men have sinned and for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

How to have Eternal Life
Epicurus, the Greek philosopher, said: « Each of us leaves life with the feeling that he has just been born, » while according to the Arabic proverb, « Death is closer to us than the eyelid of the eye. »

The thoughtful man therefore thinks of the afterlife, but only one throughout the history of mankind has triumphed over death; one who spoke with authority and simplicity of eternal life – Jesus Christ.

What is eternal life?
Eternal life is a life that never ends, and moreover, has a spiritual dimension. Jesus told His listeners, « I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. » The Gospel according to John 5:24.
His listeners were alive, but because of sin (and all are sinners) they were dead spiritually. Many brilliant men are nevertheless agnostics, atheists, because they are spiritually dead. Their relationship with God is broken, for they do not know Him. Jesus said to His Father, « Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. » John 17:3

You and eternal life
« Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. » First epistle of John 5:10-12.
The theme of the Holy Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is that of the Redeemer, the Son of God. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled to the letter in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.It is God speaking to you and if you do not believe in this message, or if you modify it, you make God a liar and you bring upon yourself everlasting destruction, far from the presence of the Lord.But, if by faith you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you will live forever.
Jesus knocks at the door of your life. He wants to give you eternal life. You can experience the forgiveness of sin, peace and communion with God, and the power of a new and spiritual life. This life also has an eternal dimension; therefore, death is not the end but the dawn of an eternal and glorious day in the presence of Jesus Christ and His Father.

How do we receive eternal life?
« For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. » John 3:16.
What needs to be done to inherit eternal life? We must trust in Jesus Christ. Sin caused death: spiritual and physical. Every man is spiritually dead and all die physically. Jesus paid the debt of our sin and therefore, if we are willing to turn from our sins and trust Him, He will forgive us and give us eternal life, for « the Son gives life to whom He is pleased to give it. » John 5.21

Can we know that we have eternal life?
The apostle John completed his first epistle with the words, « I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. » 1 John 5:13. Jesus gave this assurance to the repentant thief, telling him, « today you will be with Me in paradise. » The Gospel according to Luke 23:43

Can you lose eternal life?
In this case it would not be eternal. Moreover, Jesus said, « And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. » John 6:39 & 40. Speaking of His « sheep” He says: « I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. » John 10:28. As Jesus gives eternal life to all who trust in Him, He also keeps.

It’s Your Decision « For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son … Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. » John. 3:17, 18 & 36
These verses in the Gospel of John say that you have the responsibility for your eternal fate in your hands. Jesus has done all that is necessary for your salvation and now offers you eternal life. « He who believes has everlasting life. » John 6:47.That is His promise.
What will you do with Jesus? Draw near to God in prayer and tell Him with all your heart that you trust in Jesus Christ in order to receive His salvation and eternal life.

Let us know of your decision so that we can rejoice with you and send you literature to help you in your new life of faith in Jesus Christ.

Aches and Praise

Aches and Praise Four Hundred & Seven

June 27, 2019

Dear friends,

It is a beautiful sunny day in southern Quebec, but there is a threat of thunderstorms later in the day, according to the Weather Channel. As believers, we have much for which to be thankful, especially our salvation because of the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus on our behalf. There are threats to our well-being, of course, as the enemy of our souls takes aim at our joy and seeks to derail us as we ride the “rails” that God has set before us.

Looking ahead, we are excited that our daughter, Bethany, is planning to travel to Southeast Asia on a short-term missions trip this summer. In a recent letter, she wrote: “I have decided to finish at the Montreal Children’s Hospital at the end of July in order that I may take the month of August off to dedicate time and prayer to missions work. I have been presented with the opportunity to take a short-term missions trip to Penang, Malaysia and serve alongside Paul Elliott and his family, who are missionaries that my parents have known through their ministry … Please pray with me that this trip would be fruitful for the kingdom and that I would use my social work background on the mission field to spread the message of the gospel.” If you would like to support Bethany financially for this missions trip, you can do so at www.gracechurchverdun.com or by sending a cheque or money order to Grace Church Verdun, 501 5th Avenue, Verdun, QC, H4G 2Z2, designating your gift for “short-term missions.” There is a remaining need of $1500. Your prayer support would be greatly appreciated.

In his book “The Prodigal Prophet,” Timothy Keller writes: “Most of us are like Jonah, We must have multiple exposures both to our need for God’s grace – which usually come through experiences of disappointment and failure – and to the gospel message. To get God’s love and Christ’s grace down into the motivational principles of our hearts, to the foundational layer of our identities, is a process, and often a slow one.” I thank the Lord for men like Pastor Robert Johnson, who patiently answered questions on the radio when I was young, inspiring me to want to know more about Christ.

Someone who was the same age as I was when I listened to Pastor Johnson, went to sea and experienced the difficulties that came with working on a ship and dealing with hardened adults. After John Newton trusted Christ as his Saviour, his life was transformed and he became a pastor in London, England. Although best known for writing “Amazing Grace,” John Newton also wrote the following hymn:

I asked the Lord, that I might grow
In faith, and love, and every grace;
Might more of his salvation know;
And seek more earnestly his face …

I hoped that in some favored hour,
At once he’d answer my request;
And by his love’s constraining power
Subdue my sins – and give me rest.

Instead of this, he made me feel
The hidden evils of my heart;
And let the angry powers of hell
Assault my soul in every part.

Yea more, with his own hand he seemed
Intent to aggravate my woe;
Crossed all the fair designs I schemed,
Blasted my gourds, and laid me low.

“Lord, why is this,” I trembling cried,
“Wilt thou pursue thy worm to death?”
“Tis in this way,” the Lord replied,
“I answer prayer for grace and faith.

These inward trials I employ,
From self, and pride, to set thee free;
And break they schemes of earthly joy,
That thou may’st find thy all in me.”

By God’s grace, may we learn to be devoted disciples from the trials that He sends.

Scripture for the weekend: “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 (NASB)

Thought for the weekend: “Paul had no interest in allowing the sinful patterns from which he had escaped through God’s grace to enslave him again. He didn’t ask, ‘What’s wrong with it?’ as much as, ‘Is this the Lord’s will for me? Will it honor and glorify Him?’” – Dr. Charles Stanley commenting on 1 Corinthians 6:12 (from “The Charles F. Stanley Life Principles Bible”)

By His grace,

Steve
