La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec is a vital part of the extensive radio work of MissionGO

which reaches into many French-speaking countries of the world. The broadcasts are recorded in the studio of the radio follow-up office in Châteauguay.

The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.

In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of MissionGO representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. His wife, Karen, is also a representative of MissionGO.

The weekly French-language 15-minute broadcast features Pastor Michel Martel, a Québec evangelist who faithfully teaches the Word of God. Audio messages (in French only) are available on CDs at a reasonable cost as well as approximately 40 books in French on the Christian life.

Action Mondiale d’Évangélisation (Québec) Inc is the name of the Québec incorporation of MissionGO

How to have Eternal Life
Epicurus, the Greek philosopher, said: « Each of us leaves life with the feeling that he has just been born, » while according to the Arabic proverb, « Death is closer to us than the eyelid of the eye. »

The thoughtful man therefore thinks of the afterlife, but only one throughout the history of mankind has triumphed over death; one who spoke with authority and simplicity of eternal life – Jesus Christ.

What is eternal life?
Eternal life is a life that never ends, and moreover, has a spiritual dimension. Jesus told His listeners, « I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. » The Gospel according to John 5:24.
His listeners were alive, but because of sin (and all are sinners) they were dead spiritually. Many brilliant men are nevertheless agnostics, atheists, because they are spiritually dead. Their relationship with God is broken, for they do not know Him. Jesus said to His Father, « Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. » John 17:3

You and eternal life
« Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. » First epistle of John 5:10-12.
The theme of the Holy Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is that of the Redeemer, the Son of God. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled to the letter in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is God speaking to you and if you do not believe in this message, or if you modify it, you make God a liar and you bring upon yourself everlasting destruction, far from the presence of the Lord. But, if by faith you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you will live forever.
Jesus knocks at the door of your life. He wants to give you eternal life. You can experience the forgiveness of sin, peace and communion with God, and the power of a new and spiritual life. This life also has an eternal dimension; therefore, death is not the end but the dawn of an eternal and glorious day in the presence of Jesus Christ and His Father.

How do we receive eternal life?
« For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. » John 3:16.
What needs to be done to inherit eternal life? We must trust in Jesus Christ. Sin caused death: spiritual and physical. Every man is spiritually dead and all die physically. Jesus paid the debt of our sin and therefore, if we are willing to turn from our sins and trust Him, He will forgive us and give us eternal life, for « the Son gives life to whom He is pleased to give it. » John 5.21

Can we know that we have eternal life?
The apostle John completed his first epistle with the words, « I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. » 1 John 5:13. Jesus gave this assurance to the repentant thief, telling him, « today you will be with Me in paradise. » The Gospel according to Luke 23:43

Can you lose eternal life?
In this case it would not be eternal. Moreover, Jesus said, « And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. » John 6:39 & 40. Speaking of His « sheep” He says: « I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. » John 10:28. As Jesus gives eternal life to all who trust in Him, He also keeps.

It’s Your Decision « For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son … Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. » John. 3:17, 18 & 36
These verses in the Gospel of John say that you have the responsibility for your eternal fate in your hands. Jesus has done all that is necessary for your salvation and now offers you eternal life. « He who believes has everlasting life. » John 6:47.That is His promise.
What will you do with Jesus? Draw near to God in prayer and tell Him with all your heart that you trust in Jesus Christ in order to receive His salvation and eternal life.

Let us know of your decision so that we can rejoice with you and send you literature to help you in your new life of faith in Jesus Christ.

Aches and Praise

Aches and Praise Six Hundred & Twenty Nine

September 29, 2023

Dear friends,

Last week I wrote that I had begun reading a book entitled “The Disciplines of Life” by the late Dr. V. Raymond Edman, who became president of Wheaton College in 1941. I received an email from Jim Munn, a brother in Christ: “On September 22, 1967, while delivering a chapel message entitled, ‘In the Presence of the King,’ Edman suffered a fatal heart attack. He died on the chapel stage. It was quite dramatic, as you may imagine. He was saying that when people in Ethiopia would go to see Emperor Haile Selassie, they would have to bow, but more than that, prostrate themselves (if my memory serves me well). How much more honor and respect we should show the Lord when we enter his presence. And he was there, a few minutes later!”

There is an expression “We don’t know what the future holds, but we know who holds the future.” The students who entered the chapel at Wheaton College that day had no idea that Dr. Edman would be delivering his final message. One of those students was Lydia, who later married Jim. When I went to France with Operation Mobilization (O.M.) in 1977, Jim and Lydia led our team in sharing the gospel of Christ with people in Alsace. Many years later, I learned that many of the Bible courses that we send from our office were written by Jim’s father, Robert, who served at the European Bible Institute in Lamorlaye, France, where Karen’s parents, the late Clarence and Pearl Shelly, lived when Karen was young.

I thank the Lord for the Munns and the Shellys and for the many friends that He has brought into my life. I am very thankful for pastors and others who teach the Word of God. In the July 2023 edition of “Turning Points” magazine, Dr. David Jeremiah writes: “When I was born, the population of planet Earth was a little more than 2 billion people. During my lifetime, the numbers have quadrupled! Now there are 8 billion! It’s hard to wrap our mind around the explosion of humanity on our little globe. In America, there were approximately 133 million people when I entered the world. The nation’s population has almost tripled during my lifetime – to 332 million.

We’ve never had so many people crammed onto our planet, which means one thing – our Gospel ministry is needed now, more than ever.”

Dr. Jeremiah adds: “You may be surprised to learn, that according to Lifeway Research, there are fewer atheists in the world now than there were in 1970. On the other hand, the number of people who identify as Christians is growing. Currently about 2.56 billion people say they are Christians, but that number is expected to rise to 3.33 billion by 2050. The fastest growing group within Christendom is evangelical in theology. Those who trust the apostolic message of the Gospel are spreading the light!

Where is the church growing fastest? In the Global South – Africa, parts of Asia, and Latin America. Here’s another interesting fact. According to Lifeway, more non-Christians around the world know a Christian than ever before. In 1900, only 5.4 percent of lost people could say they knew a Christian believer. Now 18.3 percent have a Christian living nearby.”

After spending the summer of 1977 in France, I went to England, where I served with Send the Light Trust, part of O.M., near London. There was a warehouse with many books which were sent to stores and people around the world. Last week, Karen and I visited a Christian bookstore in Verdun. If you live in or near Montreal, I recommend that you go to Librairie CLC on Wellington Street. They have a large number of books and Bibles, as well as cards and other items.

May we be faithful in sharing the Good News of salvation in Christ with our neighbours and others!

Scripture for the weekend: “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” Proverbs 28:13 (NKJV)

Thought for the weekend: “God hath promised to keep his people, and he will keep his promise. Charles Spurgeon
