La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec is a vital part of the extensive radio work of MissionGO

which reaches into many French-speaking countries of the world. The broadcasts are recorded in the studio of the radio follow-up office in Châteauguay.

The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.

In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of MissionGO representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. His wife, Karen, is also a representative of MissionGO.

The weekly French-language 15-minute broadcast features Pastor Michel Martel, a Québec evangelist who faithfully teaches the Word of God. Audio messages (in French only) are available on CDs at a reasonable cost as well as approximately 40 books in French on the Christian life.

Action Mondiale d’Évangélisation (Québec) Inc is the name of the Québec incorporation of MissionGO

2. WE BELIEVE that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: FatherSon and Holy Spirit.

3. WE BELIEVE in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

4. WE BELIEVE that all men have sinned and for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

5. WE BELIEVE in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

How to have Eternal Life
Epicurus, the Greek philosopher, said: « Each of us leaves life with the feeling that he has just been born, » while according to the Arabic proverb, « Death is closer to us than the eyelid of the eye. »

The thoughtful man therefore thinks of the afterlife, but only one throughout the history of mankind has triumphed over death; one who spoke with authority and simplicity of eternal life – Jesus Christ.

What is eternal life?
Eternal life is a life that never ends, and moreover, has a spiritual dimension. Jesus told His listeners, « I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. » The Gospel according to John 5:24.
His listeners were alive, but because of sin (and all are sinners) they were dead spiritually. Many brilliant men are nevertheless agnostics, atheists, because they are spiritually dead. Their relationship with God is broken, for they do not know Him. Jesus said to His Father, « Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. » John 17:3

You and eternal life
« Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. » First epistle of John 5:10-12.
The theme of the Holy Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is that of the Redeemer, the Son of God. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled to the letter in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is God speaking to you and if you do not believe in this message, or if you modify it, you make God a liar and you bring upon yourself everlasting destruction, far from the presence of the Lord. But, if by faith you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you will live forever.
Jesus knocks at the door of your life. He wants to give you eternal life. You can experience the forgiveness of sin, peace and communion with God, and the power of a new and spiritual life. This life also has an eternal dimension; therefore, death is not the end but the dawn of an eternal and glorious day in the presence of Jesus Christ and His Father.

How do we receive eternal life?
« For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. » John 3:16.
What needs to be done to inherit eternal life? We must trust in Jesus Christ. Sin caused death: spiritual and physical. Every man is spiritually dead and all die physically. Jesus paid the debt of our sin and therefore, if we are willing to turn from our sins and trust Him, He will forgive us and give us eternal life, for « the Son gives life to whom He is pleased to give it. » John 5.21

Can we know that we have eternal life?
The apostle John completed his first epistle with the words, « I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. » 1 John 5:13. Jesus gave this assurance to the repentant thief, telling him, « today you will be with Me in paradise. » The Gospel according to Luke 23:43

Can you lose eternal life?
In this case it would not be eternal. Moreover, Jesus said, « And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. » John 6:39 & 40. Speaking of His « sheep” He says: « I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. » John 10:28. As Jesus gives eternal life to all who trust in Him, He also keeps.

It’s Your Decision « For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son … Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. » John. 3:17, 18 & 36
These verses in the Gospel of John say that you have the responsibility for your eternal fate in your hands. Jesus has done all that is necessary for your salvation and now offers you eternal life. « He who believes has everlasting life. » John 6:47.That is His promise.
What will you do with Jesus? Draw near to God in prayer and tell Him with all your heart that you trust in Jesus Christ in order to receive His salvation and eternal life.

Let us know of your decision so that we can rejoice with you and send you literature to help you in your new life of faith in Jesus Christ.

Aches and Praise

Aches and Praise Four Hundred & Twenty Nine

November 28, 2019

Dear friends,

Last Sunday, we received news that Pastor Frank Humphrey went to his eternal reward. Fourteen years after being diagnosed with ALS, his physical fight was over. He leaves behind his wife, Daria, and three adult children. When Karen and I joined Peoples Church of Montreal in the ‘90s, Pastor Frank was in his 40s and active in the AWANA club which meets in the high school building on University street. Our children were to hear many Bible truths from Pastor Frank in the years ahead. He would read the Bible in its original languages in the church library while I wrote exams for courses by correspondence with Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.

Pastor Frank demonstrated the love of Jesus by taking time to listen to children, teens and adults who approached him with questions and concerns, as well as declaring God’s glory and the good news of salvation from the pulpit, on the radio, and in adapted transport vehicles in the latter part of his life. He wrote a book that includes information about God’s creation that is far beyond my understanding, but challenging to whoever is seeking to know the truth about this world. Our deepest sympathy is extended to Daria and her loved ones.

On Tuesday, we drove to Connecticut to be with our daughter, Candace, and son-in-law, Richie Pendred, and his parents for American Thanksgiving. Just before leaving on the trip, we learned that Lenny, a friend of the Pendred family for many years, was in the hospital, fighting for his life. Last night, he breathed his last. Two years ago, he was at Candace and Richie’s wedding at Parkside Ranch, happy to join the celebration of a couple that was dear to him. His passing came hours before Thanksgiving, a day that he loved being with friends. As we consider the many blessings that God has showered on us this year, we will have a new appreciation of friendship and how much Jesus loved everyone, including those who rejected Him.

Speaking of friends, a friend sent me an email this week which contained the following prayer: “Heavenly Father, thank You for all that You have allowed and not allowed in our lives. Thank You for unanswered prayer. It reminds us that You know what’s best for us even when our opinion differs. Thank You for the times You have said “no.” They have helped us depend on You more. Thank You for the doors You have closed. They have prevented us from going where You would rather not have us go. Thank You for the things You have withheld. You have protected us from dangers we may never realize. Thank You for the pain You’ve allowed us to experience. It has helped us relate to Messiah’s sufferings on our behalf. Thank You for the uncertainties we’ve experienced. They have deepened our trust in You. Thank You for the times we have felt alone. Those times have forced us to get closer to You. Thank You for the losses we have experienced. They have been a reminder that You are our greatest treasure. Thank You for those You have called home to be with You. Their absence from this world reminds us to keep our eyes fixed on Heaven. Thank You for the tears we have shed. They have kept our hearts soft and moldable. Thank You for the times we haven’t been able to control our circumstances. They have reminded us that You are the sovereign Lord and on the throne. Thank You for Your ability to take what we consider tragedy and turn it into treasure. Thank You that, if we leave this world with nothing more than humble faith in You, our lives will have been an amazing success.”

Scripture for the weekend: “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NASB)

Thought for the weekend: “I’m not afraid of failure; I’m afraid of succeeding at things that don’t matter.” – William Carey

By His grace,
