La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec is a vital part of the extensive radio work of MissionGO

which reaches into many French-speaking countries of the world. The broadcasts are recorded in the studio of the radio follow-up office in Châteauguay.

The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.

In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of MissionGO representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. His wife, Karen, is also a representative of MissionGO.

The weekly French-language 15-minute broadcast features Pastor Michel Martel, a Québec evangelist who faithfully teaches the Word of God. Audio messages (in French only) are available on CDs at a reasonable cost as well as approximately 40 books in French on the Christian life.

Action Mondiale d’Évangélisation (Québec) Inc is the name of the Québec incorporation of MissionGO

2. WE BELIEVE that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: FatherSon and Holy Spirit.

3. WE BELIEVE in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

4. WE BELIEVE that all men have sinned and for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

5. WE BELIEVE in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

How to have Eternal Life
Epicurus, the Greek philosopher, said: « Each of us leaves life with the feeling that he has just been born, » while according to the Arabic proverb, « Death is closer to us than the eyelid of the eye. »

The thoughtful man therefore thinks of the afterlife, but only one throughout the history of mankind has triumphed over death; one who spoke with authority and simplicity of eternal life – Jesus Christ.

What is eternal life?
Eternal life is a life that never ends, and moreover, has a spiritual dimension. Jesus told His listeners, « I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. » The Gospel according to John 5:24.
His listeners were alive, but because of sin (and all are sinners) they were dead spiritually. Many brilliant men are nevertheless agnostics, atheists, because they are spiritually dead. Their relationship with God is broken, for they do not know Him. Jesus said to His Father, « Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. » John 17:3

You and eternal life
« Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. » First epistle of John 5:10-12.
The theme of the Holy Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is that of the Redeemer, the Son of God. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled to the letter in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is God speaking to you and if you do not believe in this message, or if you modify it, you make God a liar and you bring upon yourself everlasting destruction, far from the presence of the Lord. But, if by faith you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you will live forever.
Jesus knocks at the door of your life. He wants to give you eternal life. You can experience the forgiveness of sin, peace and communion with God, and the power of a new and spiritual life. This life also has an eternal dimension; therefore, death is not the end but the dawn of an eternal and glorious day in the presence of Jesus Christ and His Father.

How do we receive eternal life?
« For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. » John 3:16.
What needs to be done to inherit eternal life? We must trust in Jesus Christ. Sin caused death: spiritual and physical. Every man is spiritually dead and all die physically. Jesus paid the debt of our sin and therefore, if we are willing to turn from our sins and trust Him, He will forgive us and give us eternal life, for « the Son gives life to whom He is pleased to give it. » John 5.21

Can we know that we have eternal life?
The apostle John completed his first epistle with the words, « I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. » 1 John 5:13. Jesus gave this assurance to the repentant thief, telling him, « today you will be with Me in paradise. » The Gospel according to Luke 23:43

Can you lose eternal life?
In this case it would not be eternal. Moreover, Jesus said, « And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. » John 6:39 & 40. Speaking of His « sheep” He says: « I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. » John 10:28. As Jesus gives eternal life to all who trust in Him, He also keeps.

It’s Your Decision « For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son … Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. » John. 3:17, 18 & 36
These verses in the Gospel of John say that you have the responsibility for your eternal fate in your hands. Jesus has done all that is necessary for your salvation and now offers you eternal life. « He who believes has everlasting life. » John 6:47.That is His promise.
What will you do with Jesus? Draw near to God in prayer and tell Him with all your heart that you trust in Jesus Christ in order to receive His salvation and eternal life.

Let us know of your decision so that we can rejoice with you and send you literature to help you in your new life of faith in Jesus Christ.

Aches and Praise

Aches and Praise Two Hundred & Thirty One

Dear friends,

Last Sunday, millions of Americans and many others around the world watched professional football players compete for the championship of their league. Fans screamed their delight in the game and the half-time entertainment. In his book “Half Time,” Bob Buford compares life to a football game: “The game is won or lost in the second half, not the first. It’s possible to make some mistakes in the first half and still have time to recover, but it`s harder to do that in the second half. In the second half you should, at long last, know what you have to work with. And you know the playing field – the world you live in. You have experienced enough victory to know how hard the game is most of the time, yet how easy it seems when the conditions are just right. You have experienced enough pain and disappointment to know that while losing a few rounds is certainly no fun, loss is survivable and sometimes uncovers the best that is in you.”

Last week I learned that the son of a pastor in Boucherville (near Montreal) died in December, leaving his wife and two young children to grieve. When I spoke with him, I could hear the heartache in his voice. He told me that his son knew the Lord and that his daughter-in-law is a believer and goes to the church which he is pastoring. Please join me in praying that the Lord would comfort Pierre, his family, and their church.

On February 9, 2012, Timothy Donley was very severely wounded while serving his country in Afghanistan. Timothy has suffered more in the first half of his life than most people will in a lifetime. The following update (edited slightly) was written by his parents this week:

To All our dear family, friends and brothers and sisters…Today is our Timothy’s 4th Alive Day…. yes, it was 4 years ago today that he was targeted and very severely wounded by a remotely detonated IED. We celebrate today as a triumph of his life and the many miracles that have gotten him this far!

Interestingly enough, his next younger brother, Gregg 2.0, currently in technical training in the USAF’s E.O.D. school just began the section of his training on learning how to disarm / dispatch of IED’s! Incredible. His motivation and conviction for being in this highly dangerous training is to help keep others’s ‘Timothy’s’ from suffering the same fate.

As we’ve been reading and looking over this “Praying for Timothy Donley” group communication we’re so totally humbled at the incredible, amazing, sustained outpouring of love – real sacrificial love – prayers, support and encouragement in so many practical ways… where would we be without you? Starting with the friends around us when we first heard the terrible news, to those who started this whole organized process of keeping information flowing – especially prayer requests …’friends of friends’ who arranged for cooked meals for us for months … the wonderful ladies who loved and served us continually…and meanwhile, there were literally thousands around the globe lifting a unified chorus of prayer continually! We can never repay this debt of love that each one has shown to Timothy and us. Thank you and God bless each and every one of you. We know that there are still those praying for Timothy EVERY DAY! Such a picture of Jesus’ love for us. “In so much as you’ve done it for the least of these My brethren, you’ve done it unto Me” – Jesus –

Today Timothy was not able to be with us as he was in Bethesda in a recording studio taking care of business. The Lord has honored Timothy with this incredible calling and challenge to live his life for Jesus and others.

Please keep praying for him. He still has much daily pain in his legs – more in the left one which was damaged worse – and the cold has amplified the aches in his arm and legs. He’s also had bouts of bad sciatica pain – which apparently comes and goes… but even more importantly, he really needs good, solid healthy sleep. This is a daily battle; one that we know our Sovereign Lord can handle, but also one for us to pray him through as he continues moving forward, rebuilding his life.

Yes, he continues to be a ‘joy’ and is living life to the fullest! We rejoice with him and Kelly as they enjoy married life and the amazing opportunities the Lord keeps providing for them!!

When I met Gregg and Kathryn Donley in a Missions conference in Fergus, Ontario, a number of years ago, I saw that they were choice servants of the Lord.  They shared some of the challenges that they faced while serving the Lord in the Middle East. After their son, Timothy, was wounded, they relocated in the U.S. and are grateful for the prayers of God’s people for them, for Timothy, and for their entire family.

Scripture for the weekend: “Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21 (NASB)

Thought for the weekend: “Man strives for glory, honor, fame … that all the world may know his name. He amasses wealth by brain and hand … and becomes a power in the land. But when he nears the end of life … and looks back over the years of strife … he finds that happiness depends on none of these … but love of friends.” – Author unknown (from “Four Pillars of a Man’s Heart” by Stu Weber)

In His grace,

Steve
