La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec is a vital part of the extensive radio work of MissionGO

which reaches into many French-speaking countries of the world. The broadcasts are recorded in the studio of the radio follow-up office in Châteauguay.

The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.

In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of MissionGO representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. His wife, Karen, is also a representative of MissionGO.

The weekly French-language 15-minute broadcast features Pastor Michel Martel, a Québec evangelist who faithfully teaches the Word of God. Audio messages (in French only) are available on CDs at a reasonable cost as well as approximately 40 books in French on the Christian life.

How to have Eternal Life
Epicurus, the Greek philosopher, said: « Each of us leaves life with the feeling that he has just been born, » while according to the Arabic proverb, « Death is closer to us than the eyelid of the eye. »

The thoughtful man therefore thinks of the afterlife, but only one throughout the history of mankind has triumphed over death; one who spoke with authority and simplicity of eternal life – Jesus Christ.

What is eternal life?
Eternal life is a life that never ends, and moreover, has a spiritual dimension. Jesus told His listeners, « I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. » The Gospel according to John 5:24.
His listeners were alive, but because of sin (and all are sinners) they were dead spiritually. Many brilliant men are nevertheless agnostics, atheists, because they are spiritually dead. Their relationship with God is broken, for they do not know Him. Jesus said to His Father, « Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. » John 17:3

You and eternal life
« Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. » First epistle of John 5:10-12.
The theme of the Holy Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is that of the Redeemer, the Son of God. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled to the letter in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is God speaking to you and if you do not believe in this message, or if you modify it, you make God a liar and you bring upon yourself everlasting destruction, far from the presence of the Lord. But, if by faith you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you will live forever.
Jesus knocks at the door of your life. He wants to give you eternal life. You can experience the forgiveness of sin, peace and communion with God, and the power of a new and spiritual life. This life also has an eternal dimension; therefore, death is not the end but the dawn of an eternal and glorious day in the presence of Jesus Christ and His Father.

How do we receive eternal life?
« For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. » John 3:16.
What needs to be done to inherit eternal life? We must trust in Jesus Christ. Sin caused death: spiritual and physical. Every man is spiritually dead and all die physically. Jesus paid the debt of our sin and therefore, if we are willing to turn from our sins and trust Him, He will forgive us and give us eternal life, for « the Son gives life to whom He is pleased to give it. » John 5.21

Can we know that we have eternal life?
The apostle John completed his first epistle with the words, « I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. » 1 John 5:13. Jesus gave this assurance to the repentant thief, telling him, « today you will be with Me in paradise. » The Gospel according to Luke 23:43

Can you lose eternal life?
In this case it would not be eternal. Moreover, Jesus said, « And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. » John 6:39 & 40. Speaking of His « sheep” He says: « I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. » John 10:28. As Jesus gives eternal life to all who trust in Him, He also keeps.

It’s Your Decision « For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son … Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. » John. 3:17, 18 & 36
These verses in the Gospel of John say that you have the responsibility for your eternal fate in your hands. Jesus has done all that is necessary for your salvation and now offers you eternal life. « He who believes has everlasting life. » John 6:47.That is His promise.
What will you do with Jesus? Draw near to God in prayer and tell Him with all your heart that you trust in Jesus Christ in order to receive His salvation and eternal life.

Let us know of your decision so that we can rejoice with you and send you literature to help you in your new life of faith in Jesus Christ.

Aches and Praise

Aches and Praise Three Hundred & Two

Dear friends,

Have you ever heard an announcer say “This show was filmed before a live studio audience” at the beginning of a television programme?  What other kind of audience is there? Many years ago, a Canadian-born American television host named Art Linkletter asked children questions and their humourous replies led to him being associated with the expression “Children say the darndest things.” We are not surprised when we hear children say such things. However, we expect adults to be mature. Sadly, many adults fail to say and do what they should.

This week, Karen and I have been reading the gospel of Mark. It is amazing to read the questions that Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor of Judea from AD 26 to 36, asked Jesus and the people in Jerusalem. In Mark 15:2, we read: “And Pilate questioned Him, ‘Are You the King of the Jews?’” After the chief priests began to accuse Jesus harshly, Pilate asked Him “Do You make no answer?” (v. 4).  He then asked the multitude “Do you want me to release for you the King of the Jews?” (v. 9). Pilate continued his line of questioning with “Then what shall I do to Him whom you call the King of the Jews?” (v. 12). When the crowd shouted for Pilate to crucify Jesus, he responded with another question “Why, what evil has He done?” (v. 14). Pilate obviously had a lot of questions, but lacked the courage to stand up to the crowd, who called for the release of a notorious criminal named Barabbas, instead of an innocent man.

Of course, Jesus was not only innocent of all accusations, He was (and is) the Son of God. In the gospel that clearly shows the divinity of Jesus, John records another question that reveals Pilate’s moral weakness: “What is truth?” (18:38) in response to Jesus’ declaration “Every one who is of the truth hears My voice” (18:37). Have you heard His voice? In our busy world, we need to take time to listen to what God is saying. That will mean “unplugging” – choosing to look to the Lord for wisdom, rather than the television, social media or other sources that distract and hinder us from drawing near to God.

We all face many choices in life. By God’s grace, let’s follow the example of godly men like Joshua, who determined to be different from the ungodly men surrounding the nation of Israel. His words of exhortation serve as a succinct reminder of what is really important: “Only be very careful to observe the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God and walk in all His ways and keep His commandments and hold fast to Him and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul” (Joshua 22:5).

Scripture for the weekend: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”Mark 10:45 (NASB)

Thought for the weekend: “In place of our exhaustion and spiritual fatigue, God will give us rest. All He asks is that we come to Him … that we spend a while thinking about Him, meditating on Him, talking to Him, listening in silence, occupying ourselves with Him – totally and thoroughly lost in the hiding place of His presence.” – Chuck Swindoll (from “The Illustrated Words of Jesus for Women”)

By His grace,

Steve
