Testimonials

« I took the Mailbox Club courses when I was a child.   I remember being very excited to receive each next lesson as it came in the mail.  The courses gave me fundamental knowledge about God, the Bible and Jesus at a young age.  I am grateful to my parents for putting me through the courses. »

                                  Ryan – Quebec, CANADA

« The lessons have brought me closer to the Lord in knowing what he has done for us.  Since I have been taking these lessons, I will give you one of my testimonies.  I was diagnosed with lung cancer and through a lot of prayer I am now in remission and I am giving all the praise to my Lord.  It also taught me how much the Lord loves us and forgives us, no matter what we do.  And oh, how I love him.  I am so glad I was saved by his grace and know him as my Saviour. »

                                  Edna – Wisconsin, USA

« I am french-speaking but I decided to take the English courses because for me, the words really touched my heart.  When I’d work on the Bible courses it was  a time of peace, and I felt closer to the Lord.  The courses are easy but there is so much to learn at the same time.  I won’t forget all the things that I learned from them.  It has helped me to be able to share the Word with others.  I brought my parents to the Lord before they died.  My son wanted to die and I shared with him and know that he believes in God.  The courses are a wonderful gift. »

                                  Ginette – Quebec, CANADA

« I have been taking these Bible study courses since my early teens and now I’m in my thirties!  They’ve equipped me with wisdom, truth, encouragement and hope to faithfully serve the Lord.  They’ve kept me from Satan’s deceit and given me a deeper understanding of God’s love.  Praise be to God for this wonderful ministry! »

                                Heidi – Quebec, CANADA

« These courses mean everything to me.  I feel lost when I don’t have one to complete.  I wait in total anticipation for a new one to come in the mail.  It is amazing how much I learn.  Always, always, looking forward to learning more. »

                                Suzete – Ontario, CANADA

« I am Portuguese Canadian. English is my second language.  I really enjoy working on the Bible Courses, but I have difficulty with the English, reading and writing because I never went to school to learn.  I have learned English through my Bible study.  I am very happy with the friends I met during my study.  Every time I read or talk about the Bible study I feel like I am talking to GOD because I really believe in Him.  He’s the source of my life. »

Who We Are

La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec is a vital part of the extensive radio work of Global Outreach Mission which reaches into many French-speaking countries of the world. The broadcasts are recorded in the studio of the radio follow-up office in Châteauguay.

The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.

In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of Global Outreach Mission representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal, six stations in northern Ontario, seven stations in Atlantic Canada and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. His wife, Karen, is also a representative of Global Outreach Mission.

The weekly French-language 15-minute broadcast features Pastor Michel Martel, a Québec evangelist who faithfully teaches the Word of God. Audio messages (in French only) are available on CDs at a reasonable cost as well as approximately 40 books in French on the Christian life.

Action Mondiale d’Évangélisation (Québec) Inc is the name of the Québec incorporation of Global Outreach Mission.

2. WE BELIEVE that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3. WE BELIEVE in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

4. WE BELIEVE that all men have sinned and for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

5. WE BELIEVE in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

Aches and Praise Four Hundred & Fourteen

August 15, 2019

Dear friends,

Last week, Karen and I attended the 75th anniversary celebration of Global Outreach Mission (GOM) in Niagara-on-the-Lake, where we met new missionaries and tried to “catch up” on news from friends we hadn’t seen in many years. It was a wonderful conference, filled with many blessings, including seeing Mrs. Darlene Carpenter, who led the Children’s program at the GOM conferences in Olcott, NY. She remembered the names of our four children and many others, some of whom are now serving the Lord overseas.

While we were in Ontario, we learned that Winnie Rees, a tremendous prayer warrior, went to be with the Lord. She moved from our church a number of years ago and continued to pray for Karen and me, as well as many others, every day. Winnie lived to the age of 102 and was an inspiration to us all. She will be missed greatly.

Next week, Pastor Michel Martel begins a series of messages on Psalm 1, to be broadcast on the radio network. While speaking in a French-speaking church in Verdun last Sunday, I said that “La Voix de l’Évangile” is aired on a station in the Congo. After the service I met three men from the Democratic Republic of Congo and realized that I should have said Congo-Brazzaville, which is the “other” Congo. Although people are separated by borders and speak different languages, those who trust in Christ will be together in heaven, worshipping our Lord and King.

In preparing for my message, I read some insightful comments in Greg Gilbert’s book “Who is Jesus?” Looking at how Jesus answered a question posed by the Pharisees and Herodians in Matthew 22:15-22, he writes: “Think back to the question Jesus asked when he showed the crowd the coin. ‘Whose image is on this?’ he said, and when they answered that it was Caesar’s, Jesus took that as proof of ownership. It was Caesar’s image on the coin, and therefore he owned it, and therefore you should give to Caesar what is Caesar’s. But – and here’s the kicker – you should also render to God what is God’s. That is, you should give to God that which has his image on it. And what, exactly, is that?

Everyone in the crowd, of course, knew immediately. Jesus was talking about Genesis 1:26, where God announced his plans to create humankind … He (Jesus) was saying that just as Caesar’s image is on the coin, so God’s image is reflected in the very core of your being. And therefore you belong to him!” May we remember every day that we were created to know Him and live for Him.

Scripture for the weekend: “The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” Matthew 23:11- 12 (NIV)

Thought for the weekend: “Stubbornness is an unintelligent barrier, refusing enlightenment and blocking its flow. The only thing to do with this barrier is to blow it up with ‘dynamite,’ and the ‘dynamite’ is obedience to the Holy Spirit.” – Oswald Chambers (from his book “My Utmost for His Highest”)

By His grace,

Steve

How to have eternal life

Epicurus, the Greek philosopher, said: « Each of us leaves life with the feeling that he has just been born, » while according to the Arabic proverb, « Death is closer to us than the eyelid of the eye. »

The thoughtful man therefore thinks of the afterlife, but only one throughout the history of mankind has triumphed over death; one who spoke with authority and simplicity of eternal life – Jesus Christ.

What is eternal life?
Eternal life is a life that never ends, and moreover, has a spiritual dimension. Jesus told His listeners, « I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. » The Gospel according to John 5:24.
His listeners were alive, but because of sin (and all are sinners) they were dead spiritually. Many brilliant men are nevertheless agnostics, atheists, because they are spiritually dead. Their relationship with God is broken, for they do not know Him. Jesus said to His Father, « Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. » John 17:3

You and eternal life
« Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. » First epistle of John 5:10-12.
The theme of the Holy Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is that of the Redeemer, the Son of God. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled to the letter in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is God speaking to you and if you do not believe in this message, or if you modify it, you make God a liar and you bring upon yourself everlasting destruction, far from the presence of the Lord. But, if by faith you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you will live forever.
Jesus knocks at the door of your life. He wants to give you eternal life. You can experience the forgiveness of sin, peace and communion with God, and the power of a new and spiritual life. This life also has an eternal dimension; therefore, death is not the end but the dawn of an eternal and glorious day in the presence of Jesus Christ and His Father.

How do we receive eternal life?
« For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. » John 3:16.
What needs to be done to inherit eternal life? We must trust in Jesus Christ. Sin caused death: spiritual and physical. Every man is spiritually dead and all die physically. Jesus paid the debt of our sin and therefore, if we are willing to turn from our sins and trust Him, He will forgive us and give us eternal life, for « the Son gives life to whom He is pleased to give it. » John 5.21

Can we know that we have eternal life?
The apostle John completed his first epistle with the words, « I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. » 1 John 5:13. Jesus gave this assurance to the repentant thief, telling him, « today you will be with Me in paradise. » The Gospel according to Luke 23:43

Can you lose eternal life?
In this case it would not be eternal. Moreover, Jesus said, « And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. » John 6:39 & 40. Speaking of His « sheep” He says: « I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. » John 10:28. As Jesus gives eternal life to all who trust in Him, He also keeps.

It’s Your Decision « For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son … Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. » John. 3:17, 18 & 36
These verses in the Gospel of John say that you have the responsibility for your eternal fate in your hands. Jesus has done all that is necessary for your salvation and now offers you eternal life. « He who believes has everlasting life. » John 6:47.That is His promise.
What will you do with Jesus? Draw near to God in prayer and tell Him with all your heart that you trust in Jesus Christ in order to receive His salvation and eternal life.

Let us know of your decision so that we can rejoice with you and send you literature to help you in your new life of faith in Jesus Christ.
